Description:
This is the beach at the bottom of the hill where we work and live. It's a
wonderful spot on the coconut coast of Kauai and in recent years it has
become a surfer's mecca.
Photographer's Remarks:
This is two minutes from my home in Kealia, Kauai. The Hawaiian red-dirt color is real and
has made red-dirt tee shirts famous out here. These white flowers bloom only once a year and last for about one week. I was running with my dogs when I noticed they were in bloom as well as how
clean ocean conditions looked. Went home picked up the gear and came back. On a side note: There was a truck parked right in the middle of the red dirt here. The owner (laying in the sun) saw me
shooting and offered to move it out of the way.... how often does that happen ??
